Following the popularity and immediate sell out of the inaugural year of When We Were Young Festival 2022, the lineup has been dropped for this year's edition of the fest! When We Were Young Fest 2023 is set to return to Las Vegas Festival Grounds on October 21st. The demand for last year's event, which featured headliners Paramore, My Chemical Romance, Avril Lavigne, Jimmy Eat World and more, was so high that the promoters had to add two extra dates. Based on that success alone, the lineup for 2023 was dropped before the inaugural festival even took place!
This year, When We Were Young will include headliners Blink-182, featuring reunited original members Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker, and the band that started it all for me, Green Day!
Also featured on this year's lineup is 30 Seconds to Mars, The Offspring, Good Charlotte, 5 Seconds of Summer, All Time Low, Pierce The Veil, Rise Against, Thrice, Gym Class Heroes, Sum 41, Waterparks, and more!
In October of last year, Blink-182 officially announced the return of Tom DeLonge, who left the band in 2015 and had not been featured on a Blink album since 2011's Neighborhoods. They have a new record on the way and their appearance at the When We Were Young Festival 2023 is one of dozens on the books amid a 2023 and 2024 world tour. It's not the only reunion coming to the WWWY stages next year though, with Say Anything, Something Corporate, and Finch all returning to action.
We were lucky enough to attend the first ever When We Were Young Festival last year! When I first saw the festival announcement way back in January 2022, I was like no way this festival is actually gonna happen. I thought it was like an April's Fool joke or something because I really thought it was too good to be true! It took me until walking into the fest to believe it was actually real! It was such a ‘feel good’ feeling being surrounded by my other ‘elder emos’ and the overall sense of nostalgia the fest had.
Just like last year's fest, When We Were Young 2023 sold out in just 3 days! Don’t worry though because you can still join the waitlist for all ticket options!
