After debuting it live a little over a week ago, Spiritbox has just released their latest song, "The Void!" It's the first piece of new music from the group since they released a three-track EP, Rotoscope, in June of last year keeping the new music flow from their debut full-length, Eternal Blue in September 2021. Spiritbox is THE band right now. To date, they have accumulated over 395 million career streams across platforms and ‘Eternal Blue’ has charted #13 on Billboard Top 200, #1 Rock, #1 Hard Rock, #1 Vinyl, #2 Internet Albums, #2 Independent, #3 Digital Albums, #3 Album Sales! They are currently in the midst of their first-ever US headlining tour which sold out before it even began! Before this tour, they’d been performing at some of America's largest festivals, such as Blue Ridge Rock Festival and Louder Than Life, on the mainstages and playing other major festivals all over the world.
With all this, we are definitely living in the era of Spiritbox.
Spiritbox’s vocalist Courtney LaPlante spoke about the new single: "'The Void' is a song that came about very quickly. I didn't have to fight with anything to write it, and when that happens, I don't argue with it. It's a type of song that I've been wanting to write for a long time. I've heard it hundreds of times now, and it makes me so happy every time I hear it. It's been such an amazing experience playing this song on our tour, and watching people hear it for the first time in real-time."
“The Void,” has a tone slightly different than previous songs by featuring only clean vocals, highlighting Courtney's incredible voice. The song to me is about stepping out of your comforts and into “The Void.” Hearing that calling of this place that you want to be in life and where you feel like you belong but it’s the fears of what's out there that’s holding you back from it. Learning that in order to achieve this dream, you have to do it on your own with no crutch. “Where do my fears all go when they die? // To a placе untethering a thousand lives bеtween the stone // It's the way that you guide me to the edge // Of a hole that was made for me // I hear the call of the void and surrender up // A piece of my history.” Once you jump into this void and grow into who you are, you have to leave pieces of your former self or parts of your life behind that don’t serve your current. Once you’re fully falling into the void, it’s like this freeing feeling.
The Eternal Blue Tour, with special guests After The Burial and Intervals, has only just started! Even though it sold out, find any way to get a ticket and be among the first to hear “The Void” live!
