Halloween came early this year as Dark Divine closed out their first ever headliner tour at San Diego’s Soma with support from Uncured! I’ve been a fan of Dark Divine since they only had a couple of songs out and It’s been so cool watching these guys grow and come into their own over the past couple of years!
Uncured has created a unique genre for themselves which they’ve dubbed “Nu-Metalcore”.
They played mostly unreleased songs but played their recently released leading single ‘Mask Of Sanity’. It was released in July of this year and will be on their upcoming 2025 EP, Warpath. The New Jersey band is made up of brothers Rex Cox (vocals) and Zak Cox (guitars), along with “King Z” Zachary King (drums), and Betto Andrade (bass). Their onstage synergy is insane and so entertaining to watch! Towards the end of their set, Rex put on a blindfold before going into a guitar solo which was very impressive! Keep an eye out for new Uncured music coming soon!
Dark Divine first lured me in with their Halloween aesthetic.
I love everything dark and spooky-related, and Dark Divine has mastered the art of capturing that essence. Coming from Orlando, Florida, Dark Divine was formed in 2021 and is made up of Anthony Martinez (vocals), Robby Lynch (guitar), and Triston Blaize (drums). Recently, they have toured with bigger bands such as Black Veil Brides and VV and also released their debut album “Deadly Fun” in September of last year. Dark Divine has gained early and notable support from Octane around their song “Halloweentown” and playlist support from Spotify's Rock Hard and Apple Music's Breaking Metal.
Dark Divine just released their latest single “Digital Numb” on July 19th, which follows their May released single “Burn The Witch”. Dark Divine takes on a relatable topic with “Digital Numb” as they express the controlling nature of technology. “In a world captivated by technology, AI, and a constant desire for innovation and distraction, it’s so easy to lose sight of ourselves and how dependent we have truly become. We rely on technology that promotes standards of living that are impossible to achieve and maintain. This song is a declaration of self-analysis and rejection of the control that we have been put under through our technologically centered lives.” says Anthony.
Though Dark Divine’s headlining tour has come to an end, they are currently back on tour supporting Crown the Empire on their “Not Dead Yet” tour. On November 1st, they will be playing night two of Motionless in White’s Apocalypse Fest in Scranton, PA!
