With this year being the anniversary of two of their major albums, Green Day is celebrating in a HUGE way. This year marks the 20th anniversary of “American Idiot” and the 30th anniversary of “Dookie” and with the announcement of 2024 tour, Green Day is bringing The Saviors Tour to stadiums all around the world. The tour kicks off with a one-month European trek starting in May and arrives in the U.S. in July. The European leg includes support from Nothing But Thieves, The Hive, The Interrupters, Donots, and Maid of Ace on select dates. The North American leg will see The Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and The Linda Lindas as openers.
Green Day also released two singles off their upcoming album “Saviors” with the announcement of this tour. The new album comes out on January 19th, and is “an invitation into Green Day’s brain,” according to the bands YouTube. “We’ve never been more excited to unleash new music than with Saviors, a record that’s meant to be rocked live, together. So let’s thrash. We’ve got some amazing friends who are coming along for the ride!,” the band said in a statement about hitting the road to promote their “raw and emotional” 14th studio album.
The tour officially kicks off on May 30 with a festival show at the O Son do Camino in Monte de Gozo, Spain, before playing shows in Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, the Netherlands, and the UK, winding down on June 29 with a show at London’s Wembley Stadium. The North American run goes from late July through September and hits major stadiums like Citi Field, Fenway Park, Wrigley Field, SoFi Stadium, and more
Tickets go on sale Friday, November 10! In North America, they go on sale at 10am local time and in the UK and Europe, it’s 9:30am GMT/10:30am CET.
