Download Festival 2023 has just announced the lineup for this year's fest and it's massive! This will be the biggest edition of Download yet, with the fest expanding to four days, as opposed to three days in previous years, and hosting over 60 bands! This will be a four day celebration of Downloads 20th year anniversary. “We’re going BIG for the 20th anniversary of Download: FOUR DAYS of bands,” Download Festival writes. Download Festival will take place on the weekend of June 8-11 2023 and will be held at Donington Park, Derbyshire, the former home of the iconic Monsters Of Rock Festival.
Headliners include Metallica, Bring Me The Horizon, and Slipknot along with other artists Disturbed, Evanescence, Ghost, I Prevail, Parkway Drive, Architects, Motionless In White, Three Days Grace, Alexisonfire, Asking Alexandria, Bloodywood, Set It Off, The Distillers, Gwar, Monuments, and many more! More artist announcements are still to come as well! Metallica will be headlining two of the nights, Thursday and Saturday, playing two completely unique sets each night.
Metallica said, “We are next-level honored to once again come back and partake in the Download shenanigans on the hallowed grounds of Castle Donington, which has an unparalleled place in rock history. On top of that, to be able to share our double show format with two completely unique sets with no repeat songs for the first time ever in the UK is way cool. Bring it on.”
Bring Me The Horizons‘s frontman, Oli Sykes, says, “Download Festival was one of the first festivals I ever attended as a punter. It was our first amazing festival experience to play as a band, and now the fact that we are headlining such a prestigious event blows my mind. We can’t wait to bring a whole new sound and show for the Download audience.”
Slipknot’s Sid Wilson says, “Download Festival! So many great memories, one of the most amazing crowds to play in front of, always an honor to share the bill with so many amazing bands, and of course, I’ll never miss the opportunity to play my homeland.”
